Lift-Accessed Off-Piste Snowboarding at Cerro Catedral

Real backcountry terrain straight off the chairlifts — no skinning, no hut-to-hut commitment. Guided by three lifelong locals, all winter long.

More freeride, less hiking

The terrain you came for, without the approach

Cerro Catedral has real off-piste terrain accessible straight from the chairlifts — no skinning, no hut-to-hut commitment, just more mountain than the marked runs. Deep Snowboard guides small groups into it, all winter, all from Bariloche.

That means more descents per day than a touring trip, and terrain most visitors ride straight past without ever seeing. We pick the sectors on the morning of your trip, based on the day's snow and weather — the mountain decides, not the itinerary.

  • Full day on the mountain, small groups
  • Intermediate level and up — you should be comfortable linking turns on ungroomed snow
  • Snowboarders and skiers alike
  • Lift pass and rental gear are not included
Certified guides, not a generic resort tour

Guided by locals who grew up on this mountain

We're three lifelong locals, AADIDESS Level 3 certified — Argentina's highest snowboard instructor certification. Our lead guide holds a Certified International Mountain Leader (UIMLA) credential and is an ISAGM mountain guide (Argentina). Real certification, not a marketing claim.

Between us that's decades of winters on Catedral, plus seasons guiding and riding in Hokkaido, Japan. We know which aspect holds the snow three days after a storm, and which one turns to crust by midday.

If you're after multi-day backcountry touring beyond lift access, we'll connect you with certified touring guides we trust — we're upfront about what we guide ourselves and what we don't.

Avalanche safety

Planned against the official bulletin, every day

Every trip is planned against the official CIAV avalanche bulletin for the Bariloche backcountry. We read it before we decide where to take you, and we publish it daily on our own Cerro Catedral conditions report.

We don't promise conditions, and neither should anyone else. What we promise is that we'll find the best snow available on the day, and that we'll turn around when the mountain says so.
